Due to me not being present at the start of the course, I have not yet completed a preliminary task. I have been given instructions on how to construct a preliminary task and the rules that should be obeyed for this project.
1. Match on action (continuity editing)
2. At least one shot/reverse shot (dialogue)
3. I must obey the 180° rule.
Match on action
In a basic sense this means that the film should appear to run smoothly and should be easy to follow, the time should run generally in chronological order (however of course there are exceptions such as flashbacks). The film must also appear to take place in the same place, regardless of whether the filming took place in one area. For example, I could film a shot of a character opening a door and then film in a different area for the other side of the door. I should however make it appear that the area I film on the other side of the door, is actually what is on the other side of the door in my reconstruction.
Shot/Reverse shot.
This refers to the general camera shots that is used in dialogue in almost all forms of filming. The following embedded link gives a great example of this
I need to have at least one example of a shot/reverse shot.
The 180 rule°.
The 180° rule is about camera angles and how the scene is filmed, when filming the director should imagine that there is an imaginary line cutting across where the scene is filmed from, this line should not be crossed while filming this scene so as not to confuse and disorientate film audiences.

First post
Due to bad organisation and and a sudden realisation of how much I want to do this course,I deleted all previous posts and started again. I will follow this post with an analysis of three Real texts, I will then go on to analyse an AS project similar to my own. I will also need to produce a preliminary task, and analyse it.
